Starship SN8, equipped with a three Raptor engines, will attempt a major 12.5 km high altitude flight test at SpaceX’s development and launch site at Boca Chica, Texas. The test article will rise to a maximum altitude of about 12.5 kilometers and translate downrange to the landing pad after performing it’s skydiving belly flop maneuver. SN8 has six legs stowed inside the skirt which will be deployed in flight for landing. The exact launch time may not be known until just a few minutes before launch, and will be preceded by a local siren about 10 minutes ahead of time.
