Building on the incremental mission successes for the vehicle over the course of the program’s flight history, NS-16 will fly astronauts for the first time for Blue Origin. This is Blue Origin’s 3nd launch of 2021, 16th launch of this suborbital New Shepard type booster and capsule hardware type and 1st human spaceflight. Jeff Bezos and his brother Mark Bezos will join legendary Mercury 13 astronaut candidate Wally Funk, along with Oliver Daemen who will be the first paying customer to fly on board New Shepard, marking the beginning of commercial operations for the program. At 18-years-old and 82-years-young, Oliver Daemen and Wally Funk represent the youngest and oldest astronauts to travel to space.
